A helicopter has crashed into power lines near Tokoroa.
Emergency services are responding to the incident on State Highway 1, near Maroa Rd, near Atiamuri.
A previous statement said the road has been closed, but it is open.
However, traffic management may be in place while emergency services work at the scene, which is off the road.
One person has been transported to hospital with moderate injuries.
Police say they were called to the incident at about 1:50pm.
