A person is in a serious condition following an incident at Stanmore Bay Pool and Leisure Centre swimming centre in Whangaparaoa.
A St John spokesperson told Newshub one ambulance attended the complex about 2:30pm and a person has been taken to North Shore Hospital.
Just after 3pm on Wednesday the leisure centre posted a message to their Facebook page advising they were closed following an emergency situation.
"Unfortunately due to an emergency situation, our pools, sauna and splashpad are closed for the rest of the day," it read.
"We apologise for the inconvenience and will advise any change. Thank you for your understanding."
The leisure centre is located about 40 minutes outside of Auckland.
A police spokesperson could not confirm if officers attended the scene.
