A fuel tanker has rolled north of Taupō, leading police to close State Highway 1.
The tanker rolled near Chestnut Rd, about halfway between the central North Island town and Tokoroa.
The driver has been flown to Hamilton's Waikato Hospital in a serious condition.
The serious crash unit is investigating.
Diversions are in place.
