A helicopter can be seen dropping water onto the fire in an attempt to extinguish it before it reaches any homes.
Newshub understands some helicopters have been redirected to the scene. Many have been fighting the multiple other wildfires which have been plaguing the region over the last few days.
Fire and Emergency staff are also at the scene, with 10 fire appliances.
The bluff where the fire is burning is a dry, grassy area, with a popular walking track through eucalyptus trees.
Earlier on Friday, 1200 people from 240 homes were evacuated from Wakefield as a precautionary measure to protect residents from fires in the area.
