A murder charge has been laid after the death of a man near Warkworth overnight.
Waitemata police received a report of an incident occurring at around 11:30pm on Sunday night.
A 33-year-old man has been charged with murder, and will appear in the North Shore District Court today.
Detective Inspector Aaron Procter says the death occurred after "an argument between two people known to each other".
Authorities are still examining the scene.
