James Nolan has been revealed as the man charged over an attack using a vehicle on Auckland's Takapuna Beach.

Nolan is believed to have been part of a group of rowdy tourists that caused havoc across the North Island during a holiday in New Zealand.

He was charged with assault using a car as a weapon, reckless driving and fraud.

The attack took place on January 13. Nolan failed to appear in court on January 29, and missed another court date on Friday.
