Four teenagers have been arrested after a serious assault in the Auckland suburb of Stanmore Bay.

Rodney police made the arrests nearly a month after the incident took place outside the Brightside Rd shops on January 4.

An 18-year-old male was assaulted and knocked to the ground by one of the offenders, while another 20-year-old man received a broken jaw after being assaulted by the group.

Police carried out a number of enquiries into the incident and executed a search warrant at three addresses on Friday morning.

The offenders, four males aged between 14 and 19, will be appearing in North Shore District Court next week on grievous assault charges.

Enquiries into the incident are on-going and police will not rule out further charges.

"We want our community to feel safe," Senior Sergeant Steve Pivac, Waitemata North Area prevention manager said in a statement.

"If anyone has witnessed any incidents of a similar nature, we urge them to contact their local Police station to report the matter and we will investigate any complaints thoroughly."
