Emergency services are responding to a fatal single car crash near Palmerston.
At roughly 4:25am on Wednesday morning, police were called to the scene on State Highway 1 near Palmerston, Otago.
The sole occupant of the vehicle died in the crash.
The road is currently closed with diversions in place.
The Serious Crash Unit will examine the scene.
