GirlGuiding New Zealand has decided to stop fundraising by selling biscuits.

The decision was made last year, and the time has come; after 60 years of selling biscuits, the end of an era has arrived.

From the 31st of March, the delicious biscuits will be no more, so it's being advised to stock up on the special treats now.

The organisation says it's looking forward to doubling down on its core purpose of empowering young women.

"Our vision is that all girls and young women are valued, inspired and empowered to take action to change their world and become leaders in their community," GirlGuiding NZ chief executive Susan Coleman told NZME.

She says they will continue to provide programmes for girls that use fun, adventure and friendship to build life skills.
