Police have launched a homicide investigation after the death of a 70-year-old woman at a property in Raumati Beach on Tuesday.
A scene examination is underway, and police are speaking with one person in relation to the incident.
A spokesperson for the Coastal Villas Retirement Home in Raumati Beach has confirmed a "serious incident" occurred on the premises this morning.
The spokesperson told Newshub police have been in attendance all day, but could not give any more information on the circumstances.
Police were called to the scene at 9:40am and found the body of a deceased person on the property.
Investigations are on-going.
