Police have launched a homicide investigation into the death of a two-year-old girl in Maketu.
Her body was found last Thursday morning on the tidal flats by police investigating "reports of disorder" in the Little Waihi area.
As a result of a post-mortem, police have upgraded the enquiry and are appealing to the public for information.
"In particular police are interested in speaking to anyone who may have stayed in the Bledisloe Holiday Park, Little Waihi, between Monday 18 March and Friday 22 March," Det Snr Sgt Greg Turner says.
