A new mobile app could help make boyracer events safer.
Turnout has been created for car enthusiasts to host and attend meets.
Developer Dean Middleton says it will curb previous issues.
"The main issue of events of like that is that they're hosted on Facebook, and it gets out of control relatively quickly."
Mr Middleton says a trial of around 100 people has run smoothly so far.
"Our mission is to build a more connected and positive environment for this community."

Police are also invited to download the app.
"It allows them to actually see where they're going, so organisers can actually host and organise these meets properly and plan it out correctly, so that people actually know what to do and where to go."
