An 18-year-old has died after a kayaking incident in the Tongariro River on Wednesday.
Emergency services responded to a report of a person missing in the water at Waikato Falls in the Kaimanawa Forest Park around 10:20am.
The teen's body was found around 12:40pm.
LandSAR Ruapehu Alpine Rescue Organisation and police are working to retrieve the body.
Police say there is no more information available at this time.
