Early morning Auckland traffic was no match for an adventurous bird on Thursday morning.
Video broadcast on the AM show captured the moment the bird tried to cross across the southern motorway.

The footage showed extremely tolerant morning commuters between Manukau and Mt Wellington trying to take evasive action, with many cars swerving to avoid the bird.
Some vehicles even came to a stop as the feathered friend made its way across the highway.
NZTA thanked motorists for their patience.
