A child who was impaled by a fence in Kaukapakapa, west Auckland, is now in a stable condition.
Newshub received an unconfirmed report about the incident at approximately 5:35pm.
It is understood the child is an 11-year-old boy.
Emergency services were called to the incident.
St John said the child was taken to Starship with moderate injuries.
A Starship spokesperson told Newshub that the boy is in a stable condition.
