One person is dead and another has minor injuries after a serious crash in the Waikato.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the single car crash on Hākarimata Road in Huntly around 8:30pm on Sunday night.
Road closures and diversions were in place at both the Huntly and Ngāruawāhia ends of Hākarimata Road.
It is the first road fatality of the long weekend after seven people died on the roads during the Easter holidays last year.
