A person is in hospital after being stabbed in Auckland overnight.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Hoteo Ave and Huia Rd in Papatoetoe where a woman was stabbed, just before 7:30pm on Friday.
NZME reports the victim was a motorist stopped at a give-way sign, when someone opened the car door and stabbed them.
The victim, reportedly in her 60s, was transported to Middlemore Hospital. Her injuries are not considered to be life threatening.
A 19-year-old female suspect is in custody and has been charged with wounding with intent.
She is unknown to the victim.
