A person is trapped following a serious crash on State Highway 1 in Tokoroa, Waikato.
The crash, between two trucks, happened just before 4pm.
One person is trapped in the cab of their truck, however police do not yet know the extent of their injuries.
Both lanes of SH1 are blocked following the crash, and the road is expected to be closed for some time while police remove the vehicles.
Motorists have been asked to avoid the area, be patient and observe any diversions put in place.
