A young girl is in a critical condition after being hit by a car near Queenstown.
Emergency services were notified of the incident, which happened on Jacks Point Rise near a sports field, at about 11:15am.
The child has been airlifted to Christchurch Hospital with critical injuries, a St John spokesman said.
