A woman has had a lucky escape and been assisted from a caravan after a carport fell on it in Invercargill.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Tramway Rd about 4:30pm.
Police attended along with Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) and St John, a police spokesman said.
A FENZ spokesman said the woman was assisted out of the caravan by crews.
"It could have been a lot worse," he said. "Thankfully it wasn't as bad as we first thought."
The spokesman said the woman was being checked by ambulance staff.
