Two people have died in a serious crash in Waikato.
Police were called to the scene of a crash at 7:55am on Wednesday on State Highway 3 at Otorohanga near Awatene Rd.
One person died following the crash while it was initially believed another person was in a critical condition. But police have now confirmed they have died.
The Serious Crash Unit is examining the scene.
Motorists are being advised to avoid the area while authorities respond. Roads are closed with diversions in place.
