Man pleads not guilty to all charges after explosive devices found at Christchurch property

A 33-year-old man has pleaded not guilty after explosive devices were found at a Christchurch property last month.

Jay Michael Harding-Reriti appeared via video link in the Christchurch District Court on Friday.

He faces six charges including possessing a handheld improvised explosive device, another improvised explosive device (IED) with a detonator chord, possession of an explosive and a detonator, two knives, a credit card knife and 45 rounds of ammunition for a 22 calibre rifle.

Emergency services were called to the property on Newcastle St, Philipstown on the afternoon of March 30 when a package containing the devices and ammunition were found.

Judge Tom Gilbert remanded Harding-Reriti in custody for aW case review hearing on July 9.
