A person has died after a bus went off the road and into a creek north of Whangarei.
Fire and Emergency confirmed to Newshub that a bus had gone off Piano Hill Rd near Hikurangi and into a creek.
The driver was the sole occupant, and police say one person has died.
St John told Newshub three ambulances were called to the incident at 4:23pm on Friday.
A spokesperson for Ritchies Whangarei told Newshub that he was on his way to the incident, but wouldn't elaborate further.
No other vehicles were involved, but several lanes have been blocked.
NZTA warn motorists to pass with care and to expect delays.
