Police have charged a second person in relation to a fire in central Nelson which took resources away from the fight against the Pigeon Valley blaze.
Helicopters were diverted from fighting the large Pigeon Valley fire when the Iwa Rd/Walters Bluff blaze struck early on the afternoon of February 8.

A 24-year old woman has now been charged with arson. A 34-year-old man was charged with arson in March.
Det Snr Sgt Craig Johnson said investigations into a fire on Rabbit Island on February 6 and the Iwa Rd/Walters Bluff blaze are ongoing.
