'Nothing left': Back torn from vehicle as nine people suffer injuries after four-car crash

Nine people have been injured, two critically, following a horrific crash in Auckland's Mt Eden. 

Emergency services were called to Dominion Rd, near Milton Rd, around 7:30pm on Friday evening. 

One person was trapped in their car and two others had to be cut out. 

It is understood one victim is critical condition is a child. 

One witness told Newshub that it was the worst urban accident he had ever seen in his life. 

He said devastation lay in the wake of the smash, including torn vehicles, leaving "nothing left" of one car which had its back ripped off. 

Fire crews are still on scene. The serious crash unit has been advised and pplice are also in attendance.

The road is closed.

Ambulance spokesperson Greg Scott said the incident prompts a warning from first repsonders to take care on the road and ensure speed limits are being closely adhered to.
