One person has been taken to hospital after an unbelievable crash which saw a car plunge into furniture and a parked vehicle outside an Oamaru shop.
A police spokeswoman told Newshub the incident on the Thames Highway (SH1) was reported about 3:50pm on Tuesday.
Video footage of the incident shows a red car leaving the state highway and plunging into couches outside a furniture shop.
The car was forced off the highway after it collided with another vehicle, The Otago Daily Times reports.
Police told Newshub a car had also collided with a parked vehicle.
"It could have been a lot worse," shop owner Nate Orrus told Stuff. "Sometimes my children play out there in that area as well.
"In seven years I've never seen anything like this ever."
One person was taken to Oamaru Hospital with moderate injuries, police confirmed.
