After being named New Zealand of the Year earlier in 2019, Mike King has become an officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit.
The mental health advocate was one of 20 to become an officer and one of 183 to been named on the Queen's Birthday Honours List for 2019, for his services to mental health.
Kiwi driver Scott Dixon was named as a Companion of the NZ Order of Merit for his services to motorsport.
Also named as an officer was heavyweight boxing great David Tua, for his services to the sport as well as youth and the community.
Well-known Kiwi actress Robyn Malcolm has been named as a Member of the NZ Order of Merit, for her services to television and theatre.
