The search for a missing boatie on Lake Hauroko has been suspended indefinitely.

A boat and the two people on board were reported missing to Invercargill Police on May 31.

A woman's body, understood to be Rosemary Spiewak from Christchurch, was found on June 1.

Police have searched Lake Hauroko in Fiordland National Park multiple times for the second missing boatie, believed to be Michael Goodson. He has not been located.

"Police will continue to assess any new information that comes to light and will act accordingly," police said after calling off the search on Wednesday.

Items from the missing vessel have been discovered throughout June, however the cause of the fatal incident remains unknown.

The woman's body was reportedly found uninjured.
