Fire crews remain at the scene of a barn fire in Christchurch, waiting for diggers to come and assist.
Emergency services were called to Spencerville at 1:30am on Monday, where a building containing hay bales was well alight.
At its peak two trucks where fighting to contain it, and the blaze is now out.
A fire spokesperson says the bales need to be pulled apart to ensure it doesn't relight.
