A child has been hospitalised after a water incident at an Auckland high school.
A spokesperson for St Cuthbert's College said there had been an incident at the school's pool involving a six-year-old child at lunchtime on Tuesday.
"A six-year-old girl was given CPR by one of our swim school lifeguards and was taken to hospital by ambulance," a spokesperson from the Epsom school said.
"She was conscious when the ambulance arrived, and was accompanied to the hospital by a member of the swim school team."
St John told Newshub it had received a call at around 12:30 to attend an event in Epsom and had subsequently taken a patient to Starship Hospital.
The school says the child is now recovering in hospital and will remain there overnight for observation.
A full investigation is underway, while the school remains in contact with the child's family.
