A man has died en route to hospital following a fight in Taihape overnight.
Police were called to the scene after a man was knocked to the ground around 12:30am on Saturday in the central North Island town, located between Palmerston North and Taupō.
The 43-year-old died a short time later.
An investigation into the circumstances of the death is underway.
