Opinion: Alleged Christchurch gunman's far-right donation should go towards anti-racism - Patrick Gower

OPINION: It has now been revealed that the alleged Christchurch gunman indirectly contributed to the crowdfunding campaign for the victims of the March mosque shootings.

The gunman gave money to the far-right in Europe, and they gave it back to the mosque - meaning the mosque has ended up with the alleged shooter's money.

My gut reaction was that the mosque should never have this money because it's stained with evil.

Then I thought about it a little more, and I realised that the alleged gunman would hate it if his money went to the mosque.

Because of what happened, I still think it is wrong that his money ended up with the mosque.

However, what victim support should do is give the money anonymously to an anti-racism cause somewhere, anywhere in the world - and never tell anyone about it.

It's like a donation from the mosque. The alleged gunman will always know that his money is out there somewhere in the world fighting racism, and he will truly hate that.
