'Storm Mangere KFC': Meme pages spread across New Zealand

Storm Mangere KFC, storm Palmerston North and a storming Paddy Gower.

The 'storm Area 51' meme has reached New Zealand, with multiple Facebook pages encouraging Kiwis to group en masses and invade local landmarks.

One Facebook event, titled 'Storm Mangere KFC, they can't stop all of us', has been set up by the comedy page 'Wiremu'z world g'.

"Storm kfc in mangere nd take wat iz rightfuly yorz, chicken 4 al da brudaz. alone we r weak, but togetha we r strong g [sic]" the details read.

As of Wednesday morning, nearly 5500 people are interested and over 1400 say they're going.

Another event asks people to storm Newshub to "respectfully ask Paddy Gower to storm Area 51".

"Don't touch Mr Gower or the almighty John Campbell will curse your soul" the event description reads. So far, 1600 people are interested.

And nearly 700 people have signed up to 'Storm Palmerston North Airport to get to Chch to storm Area 51'.

A pre-event called 'Steal A Car, Storm Palmy Airport To Get To Chch To Storm Area 51' has been set up for those lacking transport to get to the airport in the first place.
