A mechanical fault has caused problems for Wellington trains, will services on the Kapiti line thrown into disarray.
The Metlink website says four services between Wellington, Plimmerton and Waikanae have been cancelled.

Some alternative services have been added but passengers are advised to check the Metlink website regularly for updates.
Tuesday's services will also have reduced seating. The 7:37am service from Plimmerton to Wellington will have four carriages instead of the usual six.
The 8:45am service from Waikanae to Wellington will be running from four instead of six two. Alternative services are in place to make up for the smaller trains.
