A 31-year-old man has been charged over a shooting in Ōtara on Friday.
On Friday, a man was left with life-threatening injuries and taken to hospital after being shot on Billington Ave in Ōtara.
Police have now confirmed a 31-year-old man is in custody and charged with wounding with reckless disregard. He will appear in the Manukau District Court on Monday.
A firearm has been located and further charges are pending.
Police also wanted to reassure the community that the event was an "isolated incident between two people known to each other".
"We remain committed to ensuring the safety of our communities," said Detective Inspector Fa'amanuia Va'aelua.
