Aucklanders too dismissive, inconsiderate, numerous to be likeable, internet decides

Reddit users have decided why the regions hate Auckland, apparently because there's too many of them and they're dismissive and inconsiderate.

A thread on R/New Zealand went over all the reasons why non-Aucklanders hate people from the city of sails.

"A sizeable number of Aucklanders appear as though they can't see how there is anything worth doing south of the Bombay Hills, and appear incredibly dismissive of the rest of the country as a result," one user wrote.

"Mainly that many seem to be self-absorbed, inconsiderate and lack any real thought for those around them," another said.

One of the bigger complaints seemed to be the size of Auckland compared to the rest of the country, with some users saying Aucklanders kept overwhelming the regions searching for cheap housing or holidays.

There were a couple of people sticking up for Auckland though, saying they met perfectly fine people from the city.

"They're more attractive, smarter, earn more money, are more compassionate and kinder, generally all-round better people that make the rest of us feel guilty for being so useless," one person said.

"I say this as a South Island born — I like Aucklanders. I think they’re generally friendly and quite helpful. People from the south, not so much," another wrote.
