A body has been found on Clifton Beach in Hawke's Bay, near where teams have been searching for a missing fisherman.
The 75-year-old man had been missing since Sunday afternoon, when he failed to return to his accommodation.
He was fly fishing in the Tukituki River, just north of where the body was found.
Police received a report about the body from a member of the public at 8am on Tuesday.
Police are currently at the scene on Clifton Beach to recover and identify the body.
