A person has died following a house fire on Auckland's North Shore.
The Castor Bay property was well ablaze when fire crews arrived at Taumata Rd around 10:30pm on Friday.
A body was later found inside.
Five trucks attended, and were at the scene for several hours.
Aucklander Lindsay Mouat posted a photo of the blaze to social media site Twitter, saying it was neighbour's house.
"Hope they are safe," he wrote.
Fire investigators are working to determine the cause.
