A Southern Lakes helicopter has been dispatched to Lake Poteriteri in Fiordland National Park after a locator beacon was activicated.
A Rescue Co-ordination Centre spokesperson says a father and son set off the beacon just after 5pm on Tuesday.
The father is said to have sustained minor injuries from a fall and is being flown to Southland Hospital in Invercargill for treatment.
