State Highway 1 is closed after a serious crash south of Warkworth.
Emergency services were called to the scene near the intersection of Valerie Close just before 2pm on Sunday afternoon.
Initial indications were that one person has sustained serious injuries while another person has been moderately injured.
The road has been closed between Woodcocks Rd and Valerie Close. The New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) warns no detour is available.
Motorists are urged to delay travelling through the area until the road is reopened.
