Wiremu Eparaima, 30, Te Wera Hemara, 27, and Emmanuel Witana, 23, absconded from police while being moved from Levin District Court. The three escaped from an internal garage after one of them pushed an emergency lever to open the roller door. A fourth man, who did not escape, then restrained a police officer, allowing the three to run off.
They then carjacked a vehicle from a passerby.
Eparaima was later caught in the lower North Island town of Otaki, while Witana was arrested in Palmerston North.
The third man, Hemara, was arrested in Shannon on Tuesday, police confirmed.
He will appear in Palmerston North District Court on Wednesday.
