Reporters and witnesses have shot dramatic footage of Auckland's central business district, where a large fire has broken out.
The massive fire broke out at the Sky City convention centre, but it's not yet clear how it started.
A police statement said cordons are in place and workers in the immediate area are being evacuated.
The statement said motorists are urged to avoid the CBD, and members of the public are advised to stay away from the cordons.
