Body recovered from Auckland Viaduct thought to be missing man James Jenkins

A body has been recovered from the Auckland Viaduct.

Police told Newshub they have been at the site since 7.45am on Monday.

A Fullers Ferries staff member told Stuff they believe the police operation is "related to" the disappearance of 24-year-old James Harley David Jenkins.

Jenkins went missing after entering the water by the ferry terminal in the early hours of October 7.

Police originally searched for him for two days before admitting they believed he was likely dead due to the length of time he had been missing.

Police are still investigating the circumstances that led to Jenkins entering the water.
