Foxton schools in lockdown after firearms incident

Schools in Foxton are coming out of lockdown as police hunt an offender after a firearms incident.

Police are on the scene at an address on Main St where a person has been seriously injured.

The alleged offender is currently being sought by police, and people are advised to avoid the area until further notice.

A number of local schools went into voluntary lockdown as a precaution. Police told Newshub schools have now resumed their normal activities.
