A member of a hunting party died on Saturday night in Kaweka Forest Park, between Taupō and Napier.
Police say the death is not suspicious. Rescuers recovered the body on Sunday morning after bad weather hampered efforts on Saturday night.
The matter has been referred to the coroner.
