A man has been taken into custody after he allegedly pointed a firearm at a member of the public.
Police received reports of the incident on Tuesday morning. An Eagle helicopter was used to locate the suspect and he was apprehended in Muriwai on the west coast of Auckland.
"Our enquiries are continuing and there is no further information available at this stage," a police spokesperson says.
