One person is dead after a house fire in Mangere.
Firefighters were called to the house around 6am on Saturday. It was engulfed in flames by the time emergency services arrived.
Five appliances were used to put out the fire.
Fire and Emergency Counties Manukau area commander Craig Monrad told Newshub finding the source is a top priority.
"Now we're just making sure the fire's fully extinguished, putting out all the hotspots to enable investigators to get in to see what the cause was."
Other occupants of the house managed to escape alive. Monrad said its important people know what their escape route would be in the event of a fire.
