A cyclist is dead after being hit by a car on Marine Parade in Napier.
Police were called to the scene just after 11am.
The northbound side of the road is closed at the intersection with Ellison Street and northbound traffic is being diverted down Ellison Street.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
