One person has died after being stabbed in a North Island town.
Police confirmed to Newshub they were called to an address on Hydro Rd, Edgecumbe at about 8:20am on Wednesday.
A man was found at the property with critical injuries which he later died of. NZME reports these were the result of a stabbing.
Police have taken one person into custody and are not looking for anyone else in regard to the incident.
Cordons are in place and the public is asked to remain away if possible.
