The search for missing Marlborough woman Jessica Boyce is now a homicide investigation, police said on Tuesday.

Boyce, 27, has been missing since March 19.

Boyce's car was discovered abandoned near Lake Chalice on March 22, but no sign of her could be found.

Police now suspect the vehicle was planted to deliberately mislead them.

As a result of on-going enquiries, police have located a number of other locations of interest.

Additional resources from Tasman and Canterbury police districts have been sent to Marlborough to assist.

Anyone with information regarding Jessica's disappearance are asked to contact Marlborough police on 03 578 5279 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
